Hi, I’m Tamsin.

A little about me…coming from a career in fashion, my love affair with art and interiors has been somewhat organic. My husband and I bought our first home together and I began with great gusto styling it with vintage and antique art to mix with our small collection of contemporary pieces. My passion for interiors grew as I styled our home and I read almost every interior book in our local library.

My obsession with vintage and antique art outgrew our home and I realised that I didn’t want to stop! Maxwell and Magnolia is an expression of what I love and each piece I choose, for its execution, colours, its soul and story. 

My collections range from original oils and watercolours to a smattering of tapestries, antique plates and botanical prints. I work with a local framer to make each piece ready to hang.

The art is sourced by me from all corners of NZ and is an affordable and sustainable way to buy beautiful artwork to complete the unique story of your home.

My husband and I live in stunning Marlborough with our three young children and my two older sons visit when they have time!

The Purchasing Process

Be quick if you love it as there is only one available in the world if it is an original! 

  • Comment sold or send me a message to claim a piece. Once you confirm you'd like to purchase, I'll mark it as sold on Instagram so no one else can snap it up.

  • Send me your delivery address and I'll work out the exact shipping cost and give you a final price that includes postage and packaging — no surprises.

  • Payment is by online bank transfer, due within 24 hours of confirming your purchase.

  • Orders are sent via NZ Post Courier and typically arrive within 3–7 days. I'll send you a tracking number once your parcel is on its way, and I'll keep you posted if there are any unexpected delays.

  • Every piece is packed with care — wrapped and presented as a gift. Fragile works (glass, ceramics) receive extra padding and are clearly marked fragile so they arrive safely.

  • Vintage and antique art carries the marks of its history — small imperfections are part of what makes each piece unique. These aren't faults; they're part of the story.

  • All sales are final, so please feel free to ask any questions before you buy — I'm happy to share more photos, measurements, or details to help you feel confident in your choice.
